OPPO commissioned Pico to create this 690 sq. m. booth with a single mission in mind: to connect the brand’s new gaming experiences and the latest smartphone products with the vast crowds at the China Digital Entertainment Expo and Conference.
Also known as ChinaJoy, the major gaming event’s 2020 edition ran from late July to early August at the Shanghai New International Expo Center. As in previous years, it aimed to foster an ever-greater level of communication between gamers and industry.
The booth offered visitors an intensive in-person experience of the latest technology from OPPO, including the many eye-opening features of its ColorOS gaming-centric system. Appropriately, interactive gaming would largely define the booth, enabling it to stimulate all visitors’ senses, engage them emotionally in the brand, and generally have fun.
The booth’s open-plan design allowed its interior and various features to be highly visible to passers-by, and for its product display area, main stage and five game experience zones to flow seamlessly into each other, creating a single ‘total experience’. OPPO smart phones inspired the booth’s interactive elements, creating yet another connection between visitors, products and the brand.
Gaming-themed areas of the booth offered visitors a taste of the ColorOS system’s unique features. These include assistance for checking players’ game records, skill reviews, and help for ‘levelling up’. A ‘4D vibration’ experience demonstrated a sensational new paradigm of realism for firearm-based gaming. ColorOS even allows users to alter their voices to enhance both their privacy and amusement while at play.
OPPO raised its engagement level even higher by continuously interacting with target audiences on OPPO+ platform. The brand also reached out to more consumers through Weibo and the Huya Live livestreaming platform during the event.
